Vegan Nutella
Plant based Nutella
Unfortunately plant based Nutella still isn't a thing here in the U.S, but the good news is you can easily make your own. Nutella is basically a chocolate hazelnut spread with tons of sugar inside. You can spread it on toast, put it inside croissants, on top of strawberries or just eat it off the spoon! Why is Nutella not vegan? Nutella contains skim milk powder which is not vegan.
What you will need:
Hazelnuts
Sugar: You can sub for maple syrup/ agave but keep in mind you're Nutella may get more firmer/ stiffer.
Peanut Butter
Dark Chocolate Chips
Plant Based Milk- For this recipe I'm adding soy milk but you can use any plant based milk.
Cacao Powder
Salt: To intensify the chocolate flavor!
Step 1: Spread the hazelnuts on to a baking sheet and preheat your oven to 350 degrees. If raw, roast the hazlenuts for a total of 10 minutes. If already roasted, roast for 6 minutes to loosen the skins and make it easier to blend.
Ingredients
1 and half cups raw or roasted unsalted hazelnuts
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
3 tbsp peanut butter
1/8 tsp sea salt
1/8 cup Cacao Powder
1/4 Cup Plant Based milk
3-5 TBSP sugar
3/4 cup dairy-free dark chocolate
